Hello hello friend, and happy Monday! I hope you had a good/rejuvenating weekend. Today is the start of my 10×10, where I’ll only be wearing 10 things for the next 10 days – this post‘ll tell ya more if you’re confused and want to know more. 🙂 So today is Day 1, and here is my outfit:
This is a super simple, straightforward look, but it’s still interesting with the different silhouettes and textures together…I feel like that’s what fa$hun bloggerz would say to explain this, lol. Anyway, I got these pants recently, and I basically haven’t taken them off since I bought them, so I immediately reached for them this morning. The bodysuit has a waffle texture (which reminds me of high school Max’s #thing for boys in waffle henleys lol) and is a rare gem of a bodysuit, because it fits my short body well. It’s still a real hassle to pee in, but that’s just the curse of the bodysuit. The black lace-up flats are now pretty beat up – I probably should’ve gotten a cheaper pair from a more fast-fashion store tbh, but these gripped me and wouldn’t let me go and then Gap had a sale and it was game over.
In terms of jewelry, I’ve just got on a necklace and earrings today. I’m not a huge jewelry person, mostly because I’m lazy and would rather have a pair of shoes and not a tiny bracelet. The cool effortless layered drapey necklace look is something I’m always wanting to be, but never wanting to spend time/money on becoming, lol. Anyway, my necklace is one that I wear every day – a rose thorn and a heart with my initial engraved on it, both in rose gold from Catbird, which is the coolest little women-run jewelry/boutique in Brooklyn. My Mom got me these for my 18th birthday, and I alternate between wearing just the thorn and the two together.
Because we’re in England, you CANNOT go out the door without a coat on! Or maybe even several coats! Today was weirdly warm, which is a good thing because I would’ve worn this AliExpress plaid coat anyway for the #Look. And then I would’ve frozen to death.
Honestly, this look feels pretty grandma-y to me, but that’s a good thing in my book. I hope I’m dressing like this when I’m 60, only maybe with some Gucci loafers rather than these shoes.
I don’t really have anything to say about my hair, and I probably won’t ever have anything to say about my hair, because I know how to do four things to my hair. Those are: ponytail, bun, braid, nothing. I’ve tried a couple times to learn how to French braid my own hair, but I never got through with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My gold hoop earrings were like $1.50 from Amazon lol, and my black crossbody is THE BEST BAG I OWN. This might not be saying much because I own, I think, six bags total, two of which are backpacks and two of which are canvas tote bags. This little guy’s from & Other Stories, no relation to my Lobster Lobster (+ Other Stories) blog (haha dad joke), and it is the softest leather, has two pouches, holds a shit ton, looks damn good, and is just perfect in every way. It does everything I want a crossbody bag to do, and I want it in all the other colors too. Also, if you care about designer bags and dupes, it looks a lot like the Céline ‘Trio’ bag. I’m gonna be honest, I don’t really care about bags, so you’ll just be seeing this one in all future outfit posts. As the wise old adage goes, you’re either a shoe hoe or a bag hoe, and I am most definitely a shoe one.
OK, we’re done with Day 1’s outfit notes – I’ll see you tomorrow for Day 2 of this thing! To end on a positive note, here’s a photo of me somehow managing to lose my balance while standing still on a flat wood floor. 💃🏻
